WE WOULD LOVE TO PRAY WITH YOU!
The late Apostle Samuel T. Moore and Evangelist Geraldine Moore worked side by side for decades before founding what is known today as Mount Carmel Church of God in Christ Jesus which is a part of the Church of God in Christ Jesus New Deal, Incorporated. Their hard-work and dedication to the Lord began in their youth and continued to flourish as they worked under other church bodies and officials in Enfield, NC. While working their jobs, caring for their family and community in a myriad of ways, they always found time for the church. Doing the work of the Lord was more than delivering the sermon on Sunday, it was always about caring for the people who would be hearing the message. It took hours of studying God's Word, praying, seeking the Lord, teaching, listening, cooking, cleaning, and encouraging the people. All so that people could hear the message of salvation through Jesus Christ and live a holy life.
Born January 10, 1932, Samuel Moore grew to become a wise man and influential leader of the Church of God in Christ Jesus New Deal, Inc. He often told congregants to "follow me as I follow Christ" and stopped at nothing to demonstrate the spiritual benefits of a holy lifestyle. Bishop Moore was influenced profoundly by Elder Moody, the past pastor of Church of God in Enfield now named People Church of God. In his youth he would visit Elder Moody at his home in Weldon, NC. During their time together they would study outside under the tree, this is when he could ask questions and learn the Word under Elder Moody's guidance. His teachings and experiences continue to inspire the members of this church especially the current Chief Apostle, Bishop Timothy Black. Apostle Moore's memory will continue to live on.
Born October 8, 1933, Geraldine Moore became an active and supportive part of the foundation and development of Mount Carmel Church of God in Christ Jesus. She often recalled her years as a young girl attending People Church of God in Enfield with her grandmother. It was through this bond that she was able to build an unwavering drive to continue her work in the church as a missionary, evangelist, first lady and mother to all.
